This autumn, La Pareja Dance welcomes Danny for a 6-week course teaching the partner dance: Bachata. There will be two two levels running to suit dancers at different stages: Intro to Bachata for beginners, and Next Level Bachata for those with experience. Across both, you'll get into the real roots of Bachata — the technique, the partnering, the music, and the Dominican vibes that make it what it is.
Intro to Bachata

New to Bachata, or dance in general? This 6-week course is your starting point. You'll learn the fundamentals — timing, connection, and lead/follow basics — and build the confidence to get out on the social dance floor. You'll also pick up some of the story behind the music as you go. No partner, dance experience, or Bachata background needed — just curiosity and a willingness to move.
Next Level Bachata
Start Date: Tuesday 27 Oct 2026 | Duration: 6 weeks | £65
Time: 8pm-9:30pm every week | Location: View 62, Friars road, Barry
For dancers with 6 months or more of Bachata experience who want to sharpen their technique and get closer to where it all comes from. This course focuses on refining footwork, musicality, and social partnering skills, with a strong grounding in the rhythms and Dominican roots that give Bachata its real character. Ideal if you're looking to tighten up your fundamentals, embrace the Dominican style and flow, or bring more authenticity into how you move.

A Bit About Danny
After 12 years coaching sport and 5 years dancing, Danny made the switch to teaching Bachata 2 years ago. That coaching background shapes a lot of how he teaches: classes are detailed and technical, with a focus on breaking technique down properly, mixed in with fun activities and training methods to keep things engaging. Musicality is a big part of his teaching — dancing well isn't just about the steps, it's about really hearing the music.
Since starting, Danny has taught workshops and classes across Cardiff, Penarth, Bristol, and Plymouth, and is a familiar face on the South Wales and South West Eng bachata scene.
